KBH began as an occupational therapy unit several decades ago within the Hospital grounds of the Baillie Henderson hospital assisting people with mental illness to develop valuable woodworking skills. The base of operations for KBH was moved to 11 Grange Street in 1994 and the Baillie Henderson Hospital relinquished administration to the voluntary Board of Directors of Karakan. When Karakan took on the administration of these operations they were renamed KBH Enterprises to display the partnership and history of both organisations.
In recent years KBH has seen a significant resurgence and has increased our productivity and viability while also increasing our team of Supported Employees from 18 to over 30 currently. With this growth we have also moved to a new larger venue at 56 Canning Street, Drayton; feel free to drop in and visit our new retail space and workshop if you are in the area.
To provide a quality business service that supports realistic wage management and maintains a balance between the interests of our service recipients and our customers.
